It has been a fantastic summer at Senshin Sports, and that momentum has carried straight into the new term. Following a successful season of summer camps, we have been delighted to welcome familiar faces back to training and introduce new members to our judo, artistic gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics programmes.
Across Athenry and Briarhill, our community continues to grow, with many classes now at capacity. It is an encouraging start to the season and a lovely reflection of the enthusiasm that athletes and families bring to Senshin.
A summer to remember
Our summer camps were a highlight of the season: an opportunity for children to enjoy being active, try new challenges and spend time learning through sport. For some, camps were part of an already familiar Senshin summer. For others, they offered a first introduction to what we do.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the coaches and families who helped make the camps such a success. We are delighted to carry that summer energy into our regular classes.
Welcome back — and welcome to Senshin
To our returning members, it is wonderful to have you back. Every new term brings the chance to build on what you have learned, reconnect with your group and take another step forward.
To our new members and families, a very warm welcome. Starting something new takes courage, and you do not need to arrive knowing how to do it. Our role is to help you settle in, learn the foundations and grow in confidence at a pace that gives you the right challenge.
Growing together, one class at a time
With many classes now full, we are proud to see such strong interest across the Senshin community. Behind every busy class are athletes making the effort to attend, families supporting their progress and coaches helping them develop.
That progress takes many forms. In judo, it might mean learning a first breakfall, working towards a new grade or preparing for competition. In artistic gymnastics, it could be a steadier balance or the next level of a skill. In rhythmic gymnastics, it may be greater control, coordination or confidence in a sequence. Each step matters.
Our aim remains the same as we grow: to provide good coaching, a welcoming environment and a clear next step for different ages, abilities and ambitions.
Join the Senshin community
Although many classes are at capacity, there are still opportunities to join selected groups. Get in touch with the Senshin team to find the right class for your child and confirm the latest availability before booking.
Thank you to every athlete, parent and coach who has contributed to a strong summer and an exciting start to the new term. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
Choosing a class that can become a routine
For a new family, the most important question is often practical: which activity will the child enjoy enough to return to regularly? A busy programme is only useful if there is a suitable starting point. The right class should fit the child's age, experience and interests, as well as the family's week.
Judo offers the challenge of learning with a partner. Artistic gymnastics explores control of the body through balances, shapes and connected skills. Rhythmic gymnastics brings movement together with music and apparatus. Each has a different appeal, and a trial gives a child something more useful than a description: an opportunity to experience the class.
A first session is also a chance for parents to ask questions. There is no need to choose a long-term sporting destination in advance. Begin with a group that suits the child now, and let their interests and progress guide later decisions.
Families interested in joining can book a free trial through the Senshin Sports website. Ask the team to confirm availability for the appropriate age group and location, so that a strong start to the season becomes a good start for your child too.
